Fantastic single crystal of smoky quartz with imposing size and awesome quality from the Zinggenstock Mountain in Switzerland. This crystal is a perfect example for the well known Tessin Habitus in which quartz also ocures in the Alps. Most important factor about this beauty is definitely the color! In the first and last picture I used minor backlight to reveal its fantastic reddish-brown body. Second pic was taken under daylight only and even here the color is extremely good visible. The tip of the crystal is almost perfect, there is only minor cleavage at one of the right corners. All together a fantastic and impressive crystal.
